Director of Clinical Operations

Dr. Zamora is a member of the research team at VisionQuest whose mission is to develop innovative methods to address a wide spectrum of medical imaging, screening, and disease management challenges. His work includes developing computational algorithms to process, characterize, and categorize medical images such as those from the retina as well as testing these methods in laboratory, pre-clinical, and clinical settings. He also leads business development initiatives and mentors junior members of the team. Prior to his work at VisionQuest Dr. Zamora was the Chief Technology Officer at ORION International Technologies, Inc., where he directed research and development programs on interactive systems simulation and analysis in collaboration, among others, with Sandia National Laboratories. Dr. Zamora was also Director of Biomedical Imaging at Kestrel Corporation in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he assisted in the development of the device and analytical tools of a novel hyperspectral retinal imager, an Adaptive Optics Retinal Imager and a Multispectral Optical Tissue Imager. He also directed the development of an Artificial Intelligence System for grading the appearance of skin for one of the world’s largest consumer products companies.
Dr. Zamora serves as a board member for the New Mexico Biotechnology and Biomedical Association (NMBio), Treasurer of the Albuquerque Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and secretary of the Albuquerque Chapter of the IEEE GOLD affinity group. He was inducted into the Order of the Engineer in 1998 and the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi in 2000.
