Through grants from the National Institutes of Health, VisionQuest is developing two retinal imagers.

A scanning laser ophthalmoscope-based functional imager is under development with funding from the National Eye Institute. This objective of this device is to produce both functional and structural images of the retina for early detection of loss of retina function due to glaucoma or other causes of retinopathy.

VisionQuest is moving beyond adaptive optics technology to develop high resolution imagers that are cost effective and usable in the clinical setting. Low-cost approaches for high-resolution imaging are being investigated. Patented technology with Moscow State University is being pursued.
